This is the worst place to work if you’re in the information security field. If you look at the leadership currently in the information security team, they don’t come from technical backgrounds largely IT auditors compliance people with no deep technical security skills. They foster the toxic culture seemingly protected by someone in senior leadership. It’s rewarded. Look at the revolving door of leaders who have come from outside and either left on their own or been forced out because they “made the current leaders look bad” or “didn’t agree to play house in the toxic culture.”
Read the NYDFS charges against FA. Specifically calling out the CISO and other leaders. Mind you, after the 2019 data loss of 100s of millions of records they promoted the incompetence into executive levels in which people have run out the door - toxic leaders and are rewarded for such behavior.
It’s not a top place to work. HR is aware of the toxicity and are enablers as is senior leadership. Stay away!!!
The app Sec team was completely turned over, either voluntarily or involuntarily, because the CISO and others where on the hunt for the whistleblower who gave Brian Krebs information on the data exposure capability of one the key applications used for document processing and ingestion. THE ENTIRE TEAM IN ONE YEAR!!!!!
