Switch man jobs should be eliminated if they doing all the work and complaining
If the switchmen do all the work, then I'm sure the carmen will have no problems supplying you with the wheel sets, drawbars, triple valves, air piping, and many other parts for you to change out when the cars are removed from service by the FRA. Enjoy!
Speaking on the carman's behalf we are overworked and underpaid(no contract). We need to fight, first let's work on benefits. 2nd, better equipment. 3rd, stop forcing 16 hour shifts. Don't get me wrong, the money is great. Ruining my marriage. Alot of us, even managers are going thru family problems because we work terrible shifts and days off. While sancho is at the house telling your kids hes your uncle. Yes, it happens.
Stupid posting. Why fight among ourselves and give ammunition to the executives to make cuts. The Carmen are valuable just like the other crafts.
Remember lance said we don’t have brakemen , foreman or Carmen any longer. And no more chiefs.
Leave the carmen alone! We need to work together. Get rid of this weak union. I love measuring side bearings, adjusting pistons and being forced to work 16 hour shifts.
All they do is pump free gas into they're vehicle. Manager included.

um I havent seen switchmen replace wheels, replace hoses, nor reweld anything. Besides w/ trainmen most at risk of being eliminated one would think they’d quit complaining about being given a little more job security. Just sayin
