Thread regarding Raymond James Financial Inc. layoffs

Poetic justice

RJ laid off employees at the worst possible moment and decided not to bring them back when it was possible to do so. Instead, the company decided to hire new people. Well, now there's a labor shortage, RJ is having trouble hiring and is actually reaching out to some of those laid off employees, and both that I know told them to fu-k right off. I love to see it.

I am long gone (on my terms) from RJ but I so much like hearing how things are. I am saddened by the lack of respect these senior leaders and HR have for the common worker. For those still at RJ watch over your back, don't volunteer for anything, don't empower yourself. It's not worth it and you will not be rewarded for anything. Simply collect your paycheck and benefits until you can escape to a better place.

I left RJ 3 months after the last big layoff on my own. My manager at the time tried to keep me with a 10% raise but it wasn't worth it. There was no exit interview even offered. Guess HR knows everything. Can't you tell by the nearly constant 600 job openings. HR has job security....

It is appreciated to hear people not only speaking of their current situation but also what is happening at RJ. To the workers still at RJ, simply keep working and collecting your pay. Put in your 8 hours and don't think about issues or situations. That's why we have Paul, Vin, Bella and Andy. Let them call in the experts to replace the lost knowledge at twice or even 3 times what it would have cost to have kept everyone. Yes RJ is making money but RJ is no longer in the top 100 places to work and Bob James must be turning over in his grave....whatever happened to "work, work, play". So sad.

For those of us left in IT, still having to suffer through all these major outages. I wish we had you all back and you wouldn't have been sacrificed during a year that RJ made huge profits. Thanks Bella, Vin and Andy for continuing to make IT a terrible place to work.

I was contacted about 4 months ago. I was in IT and when I was let go not only was I surprised by what happened but so was the rest of my team although my manager wouldn't come out and say it. When contacted and asked if I would come back I asked for a 50% raise. RJ declined. Since then there have been a number of major incidents that I know I could have easily assisted in resolving but of course didn't. A former teammate that I stay in touch with told me that on the incident call my name was actually brought up for someone to reach out to for assistance. The incident manager stopped that talk but it was made. It took nearly 3 hours to resolve something that could have been resolved in less than one. Way to go RJ. Contact me now and I will ask for 100% raise but I doubt they will.

I was not directly contacted by RJ HR or manager but by a former collogue. She was asked to see if I would be interested in coming back before they actually started to pursue me actively. I find it sad that RJ didn't have the guts to contact me directly. I don't fault my former collogue as she was put in a tough spot. All I told her is that if RJ is interested in talking to me that they need to contact me, not you. That was 6 months ago. Nobody has reached out. Two weeks ago I spoke to her again and she said her manager asked that they reach out to me but for some reason HR refused to do so. I so much wish I could have told them to go fly a kite.
