Everybody needs to realize and accept that. At the same time we were posting some of the best results in UP's history a few years ago we were having major layoffs. There was no need for it from the financial point of view but they wanted more. They'll always want more. Working for UP means kissing job security goodbye. Accept it or leave. There's no third option.

Your comments are true. This isn’t just for the railroads but most companies have adopted downsizing as a means to up stock prices and cut costs. This trend began in the 1970’s and has gotten stronger each decade. The railroads will ride PSR as far as they can and then adopt another cost cutting strategy. It’s an endless circle of cuts.
I don’t care if they reduce us to one man crews because I identify as they/them anyway.
