Thread regarding Raymond James Financial Inc. layoffs

It's been 18 months, how is everyone doing?

Hope every one of the 550 let go in September 2020 are doing well in whatever they decided to do whether it is a new job, retirement or new career. I also hope all the "worker bees" still at RJ are doing ok even though it is a he-l ho-e workplace. Management on the other hand, especially, Paul, Vin, Bella and Andy (yes I was in IT) and go fly a kite for what they have done (and not done such as reaching out trying to pull back into the fold those let go). My story...I decided to pull the trigger and retire. I was able to collect unemployment for 8 months in addition to my severance which assisted in this decision. Life is good for me and my family. I still stay in touch with a few in IT and know things are still very tough and turnover is significant.

I was one of the 550 let go. I am living my best life today. No stress, no pressure, no night work, no weekend work, no Bella, Vin or Andy (yes I worked in IT). It took me many months to decompress from being let go and am not looking back or blaming anything I did. My only wish is that these execs face some consequences. Guess we will have to wait for the afterlife for that.

I was an IT "hanger on'er" since the layoff. I have laid low, done absolutely everything asked of me but not an ounce more. I don't volunteer, I don't reach out and assist. I simply logon in the morning, ensure my manager knows I'm only and doing my daily tasks. I milk every minute I can. I suspect RJ is getting 50% out of me. I think that is one of the reasons they are trying to get everyone back in the office. Looking forward to taking lots of naps in my car....

For those of us in IT we are just surviving under Bella, Vin and Andy. There are a lot of people leaving RJ for other firms, which I'm happy people are getting out of here. Every day we are just living in fear of the next systems outage. A lot of us are all going on interviews to get out of here. It would be great to hear from others.

I am not old enough to retire like you (wish I could have), however this layoff turned into a blessing. I took a job in Tampa and have never been happier. No hi pressure tactics like the kind Vin and Andy imposed on us thru their talking heads management team. I am treated like a human being, nice benefits, better pay, fewer hours. This is more than I ever expected. I also am in touch with a couple of people still at RJ. There is paranoia everywhere in IT. Nobody trusts, nobody does anything extra. It's just a paycheck for some. I was able to get 2 others to leave RJ and come to Tampa and they are also much better off but I will let them say so if they wish.
