I don't want to quit, I want to pick up severance and then take a few months to relax before I start looking for something new. There is too much pressure and stress here and just jumping to another company without taking some time to recharge my batteries would do absolutely nothing for my health. If there's a way to volunteer for layoffs, I'll be the first in line.

Same here...I wanted to be kicked out...but that's close to impossible...unless there's a massive layoff...you better start packing and look for something else...just keep in mind that you need to finish the year if you want your bonus paid...
You are not alone. I'm and hoping for an early retirement package!
I was in the same situation, wishing for a package and a kick on the bu-t , but that didn't happen, and I had to garther the strength myself to move on. So my suggestion is, while waiting for that to happen, definitely take necessary actions at the same time. Brush up on topics, reach out to folks.
