Chinese $0.1/hr aircraft maintenance ain't working, heh? Who could've thought... Wait and see what's gonna happen when Russia will start maintaining the stolen 737s on their own XD XD XD

There is a 737 Airworthiness Directive because of a defective cabin pressurization system that can result in depressurization. But like MCAS, the FAA allowed deferring fixing airplanes. Hopefully, everyone on board slowly went to sleep and died from lack of O2 before the te---r of experiencing a 3 minute long vertical nosedive into the ground.

Why any airline would fly much less buy 737s anymore is beyond me. I guess it's all about the money and little else these days.

Maybe the wrong fastener we’re used the wrong size used or the wrong material code for the fastener. Given the relax quality standards and Rush without proper time spent doing inspection. Could be any number of things.

Design a plane that gives pilots full control, then change the design philosophy in desperate attempt to compete with Airbus, don't tell pilots what changed or provide any training, and then blame the pilots when accidents occur. Pure evil genius. Almost as if lawyers and MBAs are running Boeing which was once an engineering company.

I suspect Boeing will blame this accident on pilot error just like they tried to do with the two 737Max accidents. I think this is where the Airbus design philosophy has proven itself to be far better than Boeing's. Airbus airplanes are designed to keep less experienced pilots from doing things that will break the airplane. Boeing airplanes let pilots do whatever they want...well, up until they added MCAS to 737Max and didn't tell the pilots or provide any training about it...

Cruising 30k on auto pilot’ safest place a plane can be’ and falls out of the sky.

not a max, avoid 3rd world maintenance and pilots!

This is the part where Boeing PR shifts into overdrive in damage control in order to keep stock value up.

If it's only 5 years old, that's a young airplane. Having seen first hand what came off the Boeing manufacturing lines in last 10 years, I wouldn't be surprised if this accident is associated with a manufacturing or design change defect. Of course, it could be an operational deficiency too. Time will tell.

In any event, I fully expect there will be more 737Max accidents as more and more of these band-aid designed and poorly manufactured airplanes enter service. There are valid reasons why the FAA has stopped 787 deliveries and is not currently entertaining certification of the 777X.

China doesn't need a excuse. Chinese airlines will be moving to COMAC airplanes as their manufacturing rates increase and can supply demand. So will many other non Chinese airplanes given the much lower cost of COMAC airplanes. Cost has always ultimately trumped everything else (performance, quality, safery, operational support, etc.) when it comes to airplane sales. Just look at how Airbus started and quickly caught and passed Boeing.

China will use it as an excuse to replace all 737 max orders with Comac airplanes. Here comes the pink slips.

Whatever happened I doubt the truth will ever come out, especially in China

Its a 737-8 not the Max's in the crashes a few years ago. It might be because it wasn't maintained for a 5+ year old plane.
