Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Don't ki-l Your brand because you are not happy

I can see many of you are frustrated for some good and bad reasons. You are entitled to feel the way you want; that's your right as a human being, but don't let it ruin your career. The brand you create will follow you wherever you go, and you shouldn't let things outside of your control emotionally high jack your brand. I have seen people who have left and are still at SGAS ruin their careers because they weren't thinking clearly. I would recommend you take one of two paths.

If you are not happy, the job market is excellent. Take advantage of the opportunities out there, but make sure you leaving because of something unique to Sungard and not an issue that will follow you anywhere you go.

If you want to stick it out, find people who want to make a change and do good work and associate with them. Work to improve your brand by controlling what you can and providing everyone with access to the best you every day. That will yield big dividends to your future career and help improve your position here.

Good Luck

I think I speak for everyone when I say... Shut up with the "brand" buzzword BS. These people are not public figures. They are in an unfortunate position they didn't create. It amazes me how many truly incompetent people run companies. You sound like one of them.

How does OPG 2.0 feel about the latest announcement?

Spoken like the cr---y C.E.O. you are (and for future reference, you may want to change up your lingo and verbiage from your company interactions to this forum if you want to try and stay anonymous).
Also, how about you find good leaders who "want to make a change" and will "do good work" so this company actually has a chance of success, because it's not the workers at the bottom of this totem pole who are the problem but you and the other "leaders" who can't seem to do your jobs and run this thing efficiently!

OPG is gone…. A whisper in the breeze and a casualty of the calamity of bad decisions made by MB. He was one of the great ones

a long mealy mouth'd way of saying, 'if you aren't happy then look for other opportunities.' OPG must also be part of the trophy generation referring to one's self as 'a brand' and warning against being 'emotionally high jacked.' Man - we're doomed, these younger folks are a bunch of wussies.
