Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Aging workforce

Boeing Klein for years that they had an aging workforce and they need to train young employees anticipation of coming retirements.

Instead they forced most of those older employees out the door with involuntary layoffs. And instead of hiring hundreds of new year engineers to take there place they hire almost 2000 engineers in Moscow.

Now you’ve laid off most of your older employees and the Moscow Design Center is closed. You’ve got few older workers to train younger employees and your young workforce in Moscow is gone. Boeing doesn’t work Ben have 2000 engineers in Everett. More colossal missteps by management. Why do you need to pay your CEO millions and millions of dollars for these kind of decisions? The company has no future with these kind of decisions.

777X is dead. FAA has already told Boeing they won't be certifying it. Not sure when Boeing will release this to public. It was allegedly known prior to last quarterly report.

And FAA recently told Boeing that won't be certifying 737Max-10 under the old regulations that don't require a real crew alert system. Boeing has kept that hush hush too.

SEC should conduct a Boeing investigation.

B lost so much experience 777x is npw 4 years behind plan
It will be at risk of the so-called amended TC, similar to the NG and Max via Am TC
How can 777x be claimed as an amendment to the 777 is beyond reason, as it is a plane based on 787
Someone kept lining the pockets of faa, again?
777x is still making changes. Mgmt does not know what to do except beat on suppliers and demand schedule compression. They are basically winging it without a plan. That is what we got with out highly paid executives

If you are a capable young person, don't waste your precious time working at Boeing. Unless you have family nepotism track, you won't get your worth and you will just get the life sucked out of you and end up disappointed.

Boeing isn't an admired company and having it on your resume is now considered a negative factor. Consider doing something on your own or working at a newer company that is accomplishing something significant.

It is highly unlikely Boeing will be able to survive in the coming years given how its once great engineering competence was destroyed from within and given the greater engineering competence of its competition.

Yup, they essentially giveaway 737s these days just to stay viable for a bit longer. Airbus is still selling their airplanes at a profit. How much more real estate does Boeing still have to sell to generate cash flow for executive bonuses?

The brain drain started in the mid 90s as a way to reduce costs by motivating the most experienced and expensive engineers and engineering managers to leave. Every successive project since then has increasingly exceeded budget and schedule. Boeing is no longer able to competitively develop or manufacture new products. They have now resorted to buying small companies to acquire some innovation to try to appear relevant in aerospace. Nevertheless, I am sure they will announce a new airplane development at some point, but the executives who announce it will long be gone with their multi million dollar severance packages by the time it becomes another dismal failure.
