Sorry for the question, but what are the specifics of the grades ?
I have just received a job offer labelled as M2, with a salary offer much lower than I imagined. What are the consequences of M2 on pay and advantages ? Am I missing anything ?

M2 (Director) is middle management, but your location and job function play a HUGE role in the salary level…. You have to consider the pay on the local market. I’m a newly promoted, and (I think) average-paid M2 in Germany with a salary around 94K EUR - with 20% bonus, and 10% RSU…. For sure, it would be great to earn more, but according to German statistics, it puts me in the top 10% of income earners. Don’t forget that German work contracts are incredibly stable, and a near lifetime guarantee of employment.
If I was an M2 in the US, I’m pretty sure my base salary would be more like 140K USD or more…. But of course, that comes with risks of the American labor market.
In all cases, the higher you go, more of your total compensation is intended to come from bonus incentives. M2s add up to 30% in total compensation (above base salary), this is how the company evaluates if your offer is competitive.
I think the last post is the best description of how working for adidas looks like. My advice is to decline the offer or you will always feel undermotivated and underpaid, once you see the sh## you have to deal with.
Just look down in the other threads here to have an understanding of the adidas life. I am happy that I left and consider it a very wise decision.
It's no surprise you got a salary below the industry standard, it's normal business practice at the three stripes. That means you are one of the cannon fodder, middle management guy. Expect to stay in that position for quite some time (read forever)
You will be expected to deliver everything that some people dream, and possibly at some point pay for other "more senior" people's mistakes.
Once you have done the work, and depending on other's interests and politics, you will be expected to step down silently or in HR ovations, "due to private matters"
You will love it!
