Post a person in their car with a walkie talkie to alert the store when his motorcade shows up. Then everyone punch out for lunch. Give him no staff on hand. Let him handle the p-I-s-s-e-d off customers himself.

The most disgusting thing about all this is that our dear leaders know full well that when they get to the stores they’re visiting that they look nothing like they usually do. That’s because they don’t want to see the reality of day to day business in a real Lowe’s store.

It’s not pretty, or orderly. The stores are all under staffed, over worked and more than a mess. We’re running on reduced hours, freight is sitting on pallets in receiving or in the aisles, carts aren’t being collected from the parking lot and customers are waiting longer than necessary to be helped.

But Marvin doesn’t want to see that, so he announces his visit weeks ahead of time. He knows full well that the stores are going crazy to get it perfect so that he can wander around for a couple of hours and act like this is all normal. It’s dishonest and frankly, it’s childish and unprofessional. But as Marvin likes to say when he excuses anything he does that makes our lives more difficult: “It’s standard practice in the industry.”

That washes it all clean and excuses everything. And man, does he love to use it.

I wish just once that I could work for a company where I respected the people at the top. I’d love to hear honest, no nonsense reality from the people who make the decisions, but I guess I never will. Apparently dissembling is also “standard practice in the industry.”

We got a visit coming from Small Hands and I've got a REAL plan for it. I got a buddy, don't work at Lowes (he's the one with brains), who's agreed to come in the store when Small Hands is here walking around with his brown nosing entourage. My buddy, who'll be wearing a Home Depot hat and a MEXICO T-shirt, is going to come straight up to Small Hands and loudly say "HEEEEYYYYY, IF IT AIN'T SMALL HANDS! AIN'T YOU THE ONE WHAT SAID CERTAIN PEOPLE HAVE SMALL HANDS? YOU HIM, AIN'T YE?? AND THEY STILL LET YE WORK HERE?? Then, he'll shake his head and walk out. I can't wait to observe this!!!!! Only a couple of people at the store know about it.

Mid Tampa, Supervisors following Associates around with cameras, endless threats,

"This will be added to your permanent Record, Which can be disclosed to your Future employer(s).

“ Word made it up to Mooresville and now they are going in to make an example out of some store managers and district managers too”….. a few months a DM was canned.Last tear they dumped a regional VP…..it can happen.I don’t know the situation in these stores,but weather wise(and tax refund wise)wouldn’t they already be “ hundred daying”?And if so,wouldn’t the hiring/payroll reflect that? Was someone trying to look good on paper by running hundred days sales numbers with a winter crew?

Why is everyone sweating these guys? They are just greedy miserable humans who enjoy frightening the worker bees. Turn it around on them. Get a group of associates together, approach the badass posse and invite them all out for the liquid lunch. Perfect way to break the ice. Shots for evabody!!

from what i’ve been told, a few executives were touring stores down there recently and the stores were a complete mess—no staffing during peak hours, freight everywhere, garden centers not ready for the business, etc. Word made it up to Mooresville and now they are going in to make an example out of some store managers and district managers too. Sphincters are tightening in all of the manager offices from Lake Okeechobee all the way to the Alabama/Georgia state lines.

I just love how visits are always announced to give you a heads up to get the store in order. Bunch of garbage!

Would love them to see the true picture with freight all over the place, call bells going off with no response, constant paging for over rides etc....
