You are surrounded by some of the worst managers who have taken a good practice and destroyed it, causing the best resources to flee and the remainder to lose all motivation. As you look at your new organization, look for people that will motivate employees, bring back their confidence and execute on a plan and vision. It is all smoke and mirrors at best.
Make the change where it matters: Time to send SS, SM and many more packing.

Add CT to that list. He's toxic.
So True!! This thread pretty much sums up Teradata. Absentee leaders are often silent organization killers. They clog an organization’s succession arteries, blocking potentially more effective people from moving into important roles while adding little to productivity. Their negative effect on organizations accumulates over time, largely unchecked.
Absentee Leadership is what SM and SS provide. On reorg calls you will hear them say “You’re doing a great job.” But they both know and the employees know it isn’t true — the organization is in disarray, turnover is excessive, employee morale is an all time low and customers are not happy. The organization needs a leader than can give substantive advice, not platitudes. I would rather have managers who pushed me, yelled at me or made unrealistic demands than these two bozos who provide empty praise. They represent a special case of laissez-faire leadership, but one that is distinguished by its destructiveness.
