Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Another Day, Another SVP

It seems every day, Macys hires or announces a new SVP of something. What happened to “de-layering” the organization? Our jobs have gotten cumbersome with all of the layoffs, consolidations and function eliminations. Our engagement scores keep screaming the workload is past being manageable, and the quality of work is greatly suffering. We need more “doers” , not SVPs who add no value, except payroll expense.

I agree thought Macys was eliminating more of these Management positions not adding them back. Unless this person replaced an SVP who left and they needed to fill. Way too many layers of management when I worked there even with my current company. Some managers badly overpaid IMO as well.
