Big corporate changes handled better? You silly rabbit.
With any change like this comes a complete makeover in culture. If you were around for the Hughes to GM to Raytheon handoff (I think this was exclusively CA) that may be obvious.
But contracts are contracts, and if they want the Military to stop screaming at them at some point they will have to straighten up and organize their Engineering and Operations groups (and maximize retention). Customers do pay attention to workforce numbers.
Trying to recover from ticking off the military is like trying to re-tame a rabid Lion.

Allegedly, layoffs are to happen around the August timeframe. We will continue to bleed resources, both long timers and newbies fleeing for greener pastures. We will have our own great resignation (aka retirements) with those who have pensions before the changes happen. I think we will continue to see a shakeup of leadership, with continued embedding of legacy UTC folks into key legacy Raytheon business unit leadership positions. I see Greg in the CEO role for maybe the next 2 years, before he “gives up the role” to Chris, and just maintain the chairman of the board.
In other words, change…change…change. Hopefully, these changes will be better handled compared to what we’ve experienced thus far.
