I am constantly hoping for some changes for the better. Unfortunately, I don't see them. What I do see is that the amount of work has changed, but not for the better, as I was much less overwhelmed when I first arrived here. I find it interesting to hear how this company has changed over the years from older colleagues. I pretty much realize that it was incomparably better to work here in the past than it is now.

I still remember the great bonus we got from the apple settlement....ahahaha...it was truly laughable. Managers were so proud of that pittance. I disconnect the computer in the weekend....if they do not like...too bad for them. If they pi-s me off I go to apple, easy choice (I might soon move anyhow)
When top management got to split $10 Million for the Apple settlement, crying in front of us that it wouldn't have been possible without the workers....that was the end for me. I knew then that Q was doomed and had been turned in a company deaf to their employees. Sc--w them...
There was an exciting time when the company was growing, when we were building something very special, building a production test organization, only to see it squandered by 'managers' too worried about climbing the ladder to line their own pockets.
Maybe I was too optimistic thinking that hard work, positive results and successful implementation would result in recognition ( mostly in the paycheck where it really counted ). All of that was reserved to the lick spittle management types.
Patents are transferred into QTL to hold.
By an old guy that thinks he is the gift to the world because of it. We all stand in awe. Bow down and kiss the ring.
You are a broken record. And you have erected a nice ivory tower to perch yourself upon. Now spin.
You do not know how to read a balance sheet to think Q is based in India. QTL is by far the most profitable company at Qualcomm. There are NO QTL employees in India. Unless Qualcomm begins to makes its own silicone - it will never be based outside the Us
Ironically enough, The Last of the Mohegan, are the US personel at Q.
Despite domicile on paper, Q is India based at this point. Hence the last of the Mohegans are the SD folks whether they believe it or not. The data doesn't lie. But your mind can play a lot of tricks when you ignore what is right in front of you.
Okay, for those of you not following along.
Mohegan Tribe (US persons) were becoming extinct as colonization (India) spread across the territories (Qualcomm).
If you are Indian, you say this is good. If you are Mohegan, not so much. Good to take perspective on the circle of life.
But we (the US policy makers that allow this) need to take corrective action, engineers are at their wits end dealing with the BS and the erosion spreading through other companies to varying degrees. Q being a severe example.
Public and foreign policy are key to ensuring the US stays on the right track for its people, economy and all that matters to the US.
You know nothing about Qualcomm’s history to think that Qualcomm will ever not be based in the US or have a majority of US employees. The US government blocked a hostile take over of Qualcomm not India! Do you honestly believe that could have happened without back doors promises and assurances? Really d-mb and uneducated post!
Qualcomm inevitably becomes a Bangalore based company with U.S. offices
The more innovation the political a company is. The less innovative the company becomes politics take over. Qualcomm is very political due to no new innovation.
Qualcomm has become Kodak or blockbuster video… we don’t want the business model to change bc the margins are so great not on the chips but on the licenses…. I don’t see anything changing although Qualcomm wouldn’t be here today if Trump didn’t block the hostile take over….. So the company is probably at its height of politics…. Hopefully some young mins at Qualcomm can think of a new business to shoot some life in the company…. or maybe we should dust off that old engineer and have them make a comeback … could be like Steve Jobs coming back to apple 🍏
