SEC filing shows Ray is retiring effective in September. Should be interesting to see who fills that. Wouldn't be surprised to see Hennigan bring in someone external who wants to cut cost further and care even less about safety.

Spot on. They’ve been beating on GBR since 2013. Perhaps they’ve let up a bit now they have the L10 (L8 now) punching bags. It’s the MPC culture. They’ll never stop. Transfer to a MPC legacy facility or another company is the only hope. Get out if you get the chance!
Very few MPC people acknowledge how poorly MPC treats "outsiders". Being an ex-Tesoro/Andeavor employee, I am treated like an outsider. MPC people are very dismissive of any contributions made by outsiders to the point that anything and everything we do is useless because we're probably d-mb. Outsiders are made to feel lucky and undeserving of having a job at MPC.
Most/All of Tesoro/Andeavor senior leadership left right away and are doing bigger and better things at other companies. Ex-employees (outsiders) are leaving in droves, I am prepping for my exit as well. I am kicking myself for not bailing last year when I was offered a job somewhere else, I thought things would get better but they are going downhill fast.
Correction: good listener and person if you were a long term MPC employee.

Ditto on the comment below. I’ve Personally heard Ray belittle and humiliate people in front of a large group. Typically his wrath was towards ANDV people. From the beginning, his mindset that the ANDV team were less human, and he went out of his way to treat them that way. One of the worse people I have encountered in my career.
Ray is awful and an arrogant jerk who treated people like trash. Good riddance to him. His legacy is a rotten culture staffed with cronies and “yes men” a recipe for disaster in this business. Hopefully we can get someone in with the strength and leadership to clean his mess up. Only at MPC could someone like Ray rise to the top (same comment stands for the rest of this joke of an executive team)
I don't disagree with that, good legacy andv people are definitely being underutilized. My fear of outside people is just who Hennigan would pick.
They need someone from outside. Past three years Ray has been busy putting old line Marathon folks into RLT and front line supervisor positions at legacy Andeavor locations. This has destroyed morale at these sites since "legacy Marathon person = golden" and "legacy Andeavor = d-mb and stupid" is very destructive.
Nah, we’ll hire someone from the outside majors, they’ll be here for less than a year, and will leave once they realize how bad it is. Commercial officer?
I'm sure they'll have a groundbreaking strategy like, "sell assets to increase stock buy backs."
Enrich the execs, shell the company until you can whittle it down to get a merger/buyout. Golden parachute for execs, crumbs for workers.
