Thread regarding Ricoh layoffs

Getting tired of hating Sundays because they lead up to Mondays

I hate my job so much that I'm now unable to enjoy my weekends properly. I can relax somewhat on Saturdays but come Sundays, the knot in my stomach starts to grow until work is all I can think about. I've been trying to find something new but so far I've had no luck. I'm not sure how much longer I can take this. I might have to quit even without having a replacement job lined up to protect my mental health.

I was in the same boat. I was one that took a severance package when offered. I was without a job for a while but finally found one. Unfortunately, the new one is actually worse (still the same type of business). So I'm looking again. It might be time to look in other areas. I'm open to anything.

I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same way when I worked at Ricoh. I was chosen to be laid off because my manager wanted a yes man to all his bad ideas. He would smile in your face and call you pal and then throw you under the bus when it meant his hide. He did it will others, not just me. I was anxious as he-l the first week after I was let go after being with the company for 20 years. I can tell you I am happier away from that company. I spent 6 months in Afghanistan after I was laid off and I was still happier. I kid you not. If you are that unhappy and are able I suggest leaving Ricoh. Your will feel better.

Be pragmatic on compensation. Slight decrease in pay at a better job with more growth opps and a good culture are worth some short term comp pain. Your intestines will thank you!

Jobs are out there, but the window is closing. Get your resume together, focus on skills, look outside the copier industry. Read about how to format your resume so it will get picked up by scanning programs. Put your resume out on all the boards and check them everyday to find jobs that sound interesting. If it sounds like something you want, but don't fit exactly, try anyway as they might be light on candidates. If you have a decent work history you stand a good chance of getting a call back. If there are companies that you think you might want to work for, go to their web site and look for open positions. The only thing thing that is keeping you in your situation is you
