Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Crazy experiment

It would be good for the leadership to think carefully about the moves before making any final decisions, because working at Macy's seems more and more like being part of a crazy experiment. They cut hours, lay off, try to implement new programs, all with the goal of the company's survival. The result is that the company is sinking more and more.

Backstage isn't going to final sale like Last Act is. Backstage remains 30 days return.

Another crazy experiment is coming this March 29th. It's a new return policy on last act or clearance items, also on backstage items. Managers and captains be ready for those customers complaints.

Macys is constantly changing and seeing what will work. Endless floor moves it seems. Job title changes and responsibilities, Fulfillment sometimes even moving to different areas. For a customer nothing more annoying than when things move around after you’ve gotten used to the location in the store. Not just Macys but Costco and Shoprite do the same thing.

Eventually sooner or later Macy's will file for bankruptcy. Look at what happen to JCPenney, they file for bankruptcy and later they were bought by two mall owners and still they are planning to close more stores. Macy's is still trying to catch up with other retailers.

Sears used to do the same thing. Sears would come up with something new and different and then a few months later it was gone and replaced with something else. The cycle just repeated itself.

Very true. Every new year, there’s a new plan, renaming job titles and cutting jobs, a plan to shut down stores or give them time to see if they make it or not, it’s confusing and d-mb. They are throwing stuff to the wall and seeing what sticks. And we the employees are all the guinea pigs. Remember the North Star plan, the neighborhood stores, the MAGIC acronym, etc. I don’t know what is what anymore.
