Downstream and P&T is hiring External (no candidates available internally), so much work and quite understaffed... I see zero chance of SVS in 2022 or 2023... Beyond that no one knows..
End 2022 was looking good for SVS but rig schedule is slipping. Likely mid-2023 now. SEIC end means repatriate and then cut, and Shell is slow. Earliest svs will be Jan 2023. Low raises and a low bonus were there to shake the tree. If you got a strong this year you’re in scope for svs next time. JG99 are dead in the water. (99 was a cruel move). Dutch employment law will mean US will get cut to absorb those repatriated from Mordor, to appease the staff # target. This layoff will be used as the final cut of exploration. It’s the designed play, just sped up. Exploration were given one last chance and they are blowing it. Really hard! And you’ll see digital cut too. Development will stay with a very minor cut, it’s the cash cow. Refining will likely stay untouched after their cuts and as feed for what is left of our chemicals business. If you are 99 or with a bad boss start looking for another gig. It’s the smart move.
Unfortunately, in the above prediction the factor driving it is the CEO. He’s out of ideas. He’s disliked. He surrounded himself with upper management and advisors who do not believe in what they are doing. His play book is simple, bu//$h1t and then cut.
The job market outside is better than management pretend.
I'm beginning to wonder if that "SVS in 2022" rumor posted in an earlier thread on this board is substantiated. Personally I plan to retire later this year, but am willing to hold on for a few more months if it means I can get an SVS package, but I am not willing to hold on for more than a year.
Has anyone else heard rumor that SVS will be offered in 2022? And if so, does it cover the whole of Shell US or will it only be in certain business units?
Oh fu-k. The hydrogen plant again! Next, we'll get to see him reenact his come to Jesus talk his imaginary daughter had with him!
Ask the question man!
