Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Rising Gas Prices = Less Disposable Income

Anybody else already seeing a decline in store traffic as gas prices have almost hit $7 a gallon here in CA? We had people returning so much stuff this weekend and several people said that gas prices were really having an impact. We are affordable luxury and disposable income is our bread and butter.

Gas will go down as US begins to import from other countries and we use our own reserves. Not much can get people up in arms like the price of gas and milk.

Monday through Thursday is always slow before the 3 day One Day Sale begins on Friday. Don’t worry, all the customers will be here soon.

Welcome to the world of affordable fashion. The same problem the company faced during the pandemic is going to bite it in the back side with the spike in gas prices. Macy's sells stuff that people like but don't need, we need gas to get to work, food to eat, and a place to live. Prices are going up like crazy on all of these needs, leaving less and less for the wants sold at Macy's.

Here we go again. Macy's sales will start to go down. Remember that they fix the problem with cutting hours and layoffs . They start from the bottom never the top.
