Y'all can keep posting "I think X is closing next, I think Y is closing next, I think Z is closing next" all you want, but it means nothing. Only Avenel is closing now, & only Ed Lampert Knows which, if any, will be closing next. If y'all are so good at predicting stuff, predict Tomorrow's Lottery numbers, & get a Ticket. Your prediction there will mean about as much as your predictions of future closings here, unless you have a working crystal ball. If so, I'll buy it from ya before I head to the Casino!
Nothing really new here, but an article with a small interview with the store manager and also mayor of Avenel:
https://www.tapinto.net/towns/woodbridge-slash-carteret/sections/business-and-finance/articles/kmart-in-avenel-to-close-in-aprilhttps://www.spendwithpennies.com/easy-quiche-recipe/
The nj.com article says the last day will be Sunday, April 17, making this a relatively quick liquidation.
Job listings for Avenel are up: https://jobs.sears.com/en-US/search?facetcompany=kmart&facetcitystate=woodbridge%20township,nj
External source up already! I just contacted him asking him to write it and he did:
https://www.nj.com/business/2022/03/kmart-is-closing-1-of-its-last-2-stores-in-nj.html
So when is the last day for it?
@exw+1fF8067X Not 25% if you count all Kmarts. More like 10% (as they went down from 10 to 9). If you only count stateside, then yes, 25%.
Wow a 25% closing list for US Kmarts! That HUGE, probably the biggest ever single day closing list!
Somewhere, in a basement, elevator guy is getting physically excited about making a video "going over" this closing, the same way people get excited about going on a first Date, Or something.

Y'all didn't post any proof of ANY of that. It's closing when it's linked, not before. And as of yet, only Avenel is linked. Remember, SB360 typically puts all stores from a current "round", up on their list AT THE SAME TIME. So being, that they only put up Avenel, that probably means that's the only store closing in this "round" of closings. Now, of course they could change this pattern, but in the past, they have put up all stores for a current round, up simultaneously on their web list. So if those other stores y'all keep mentioning were part of this particular ROUND, they would have been posted by SB360 already. They will probably close soon, but they don't seem to be part of this round. Looks like Avenel might be a 1-hit wonder for this round. I like writing the word "round", a lot don't I, LOL?
Moreover, being that Bridgehampton has managerial jobs listed, they probably aren't closing just yet. Also, Miami recently had a remodel, so I don't think they will close right away either. Of course, I could be wrong, but why would they go through all the trouble of remodeling last Year, if they were just going to close anyway?
Anyway, long story short, let's not declare store X, or store Y closing, until and unless it's linked. So far, only Avenel. I'll take it.
Bridgehampton will be the last Kmart (not counting the ones in the territories)
Miami and Westwood will be announced next.
You can vote it down all you want but the end is nearing for the continental locations.
I think Miami is next. Last two will be Bridgehampton and Westwood.
They're are 3 Kmarts left in the US
Miami, FL
Westwood, NJ
Bridgehampton, NY
Westwood is next
