Thread regarding Adidas layoffs

Always h(f)ire

They just announced the Always on Hire program, after firing 10% of the workforce during the last 3 years, or as some Harm-ing guy was saying in an epiphora bout, "taking painfull decisions" for the employees, not for them. Where is the sense in that now? Well, have a look at the McDonalds across the street, always hiring staff and you might have the answers.
Leave adidas or don't accept any offer, unless you are part of the M1, some M2 or higher batch. In that case you will do just fine, coffee chats, yammer posts, self promoting, a well established perpetual and favoritist caste system, unless they jettison you for (un)knowingly breaking their rules at some point.
For the rest, don't bother. There are enough posts below that show chronologically what has been happening at adidas.

KEEP SCROLLING DOWN!
It's a pandemic ummmm I mean epidemic how adidas has of course in the past 3 -4 years hired and fired the WRONG people. Once the protest started the dominos soon fell, NEW hires were based solely on what boxes they checked or in terms of real world, race and Inclusion.

Not the boxes based on experience, skillset or contributions. Soon great people started leaving the brand, people whom never would remove their stripes or pledge allegiance to another brand. The pendulum was swinging and change occurring however it was the wrong type of change.

So now all of those hires that Zion spoke about 2 years ago that his group was being judged on are still being touted despite lack of any type of contribution and the superstars of the brand are gone. Most likely over the next 4 years the brand will hire qualified people to actually perform thus the ol' 2 for 1 will reappear. It's clear to everyone, as we watch all the goodbyes on LinkedIn from the real adidas superstars that built the brand are leaving.

DONT WORRY ABOUT LAYOFFS EVERYONE IS LEAVING ANYWAY. The news about all the hires will be interns and candidate hires to do the work of those box checkers from the past two years. Speak to anyone in HR who has had to pass on qualified and industry vets , they are frustrated the field , A-Live readers, the LinkedIn announcements and of course the sh-t that happens everyday while we watch the exits continue. I'm part of the "just wait another year and collect the checks" ........... bring back the employee forum , ask the management or even the NPS to get a real feel for the temperature in the room. One finger salute to all the sensitive people who are afraid to say anything and just sit back and do nothing.
