Praying for everybody

Every person who works here deserves so much better than this.

The old Citrix is gone. That happened when Templeton was unceremoniously fired. While the stock zoomed, and some must-do cleanup did take place, the strategic thinking that Mark always sought simply went by the wayside. What was needed was a strong and true COO who would tighten the ship operationally, break the farming behavior in sales, ask for accountability in the product organization, while still benefitting from the vision and strategic thinking of Mark.

Instead, the worst of both came about. No clear strategy... A bunch of people who really did not know how to define and execute a strategy in the ELT. No real COO. A few wannabees that sounded tough but did not institute the real change. While some operational systems were put in, they usually focused on so much detail that it bogged down any speed that the company should have had during such a period of change.

The look forward is not simply a matter of not having public oversight. The PE's will definitely bring even tighter financial oversight! That's what they know how to do best. The issue is that there is no one to really drive a strategy that can move Citrix customers forward. DaaS is not the solution here as DaaS is becoming a basic commodity service and whose cost structure is now dominated by Microsoft. There is no DaaS without Microsoft, and much of the profit goes to them. The real opportunities like elsewhere but, there is no mind left in Citrix that can think 5 miles beyond Ft. Lauderdale.

If you see a new CEO or President appointed to Citrix that is from industry with a strong pedigree, you will know that the PE's have their act together. That person will need to turn the ELT, and the next layer over once or twice and start shaping a new strategy that can be executed under the CEO, with tight financial management. Then the place could be a fun ride. In the meantime, expect churn, change and many people leaving.

If people stay at this hopeless dung ho-e then they deserve what’s coming to them.

I agree that people deserve better but prayers won't help. This is a simple matter of choice. Stay and continue to be mistreated or leave and find a place that'll treat you better. It's on each individual to make that decision.
