Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

Rumors about layoffs don't bother me at all anymore.

It used to be that every time I heard some rumor about layoffs my anxiety levels went through the roof, but over time I started worrying less and less. Moreover, now I would like to be first one on the layoff list. I have noticed this with my colleagues as well. Looks like no one cares too much about getting laid off anymore?

HN will be fine. The division makes nearly $2B a year. They haven't had any major layoffs in 2 years and continue to get orders despite the supply chain issues. Chow is doing something right or else they would've just the whole thing down a year ago. Commscope treating them as the ugly stepchild seems extremely misguided. Did they even bother to see the value from the beginning?

I hoped for about a year and a half for a severance package after the Arris acquisition, and ended up just leaving after finding a better job at a better company at 30% more money and way better benefits. The job market is still strong, it might be worth just leaving on your own accord.

Even if management found a buyer for HN, the near term outlook for the company would still be dire! They would still have the huge debt burden to service. Bad luck that covid scuppered their best laid plans. However, the company's current problems stems from management's decision to acquire Arris using leverage. They can blame HN all they want, thereby destroying HN employees morale, but the buck stops with the bright spark who decided to use the humongous level of leverage to acquire Arris! Did Comm actually carry out a thorough DD before making the deal I ask myself?

There are big changes on the way including a reorg of one of the major Corp orgs.

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t look forward to being laid off. Stock is not doing well and next week’s financials might not meet expectations even though one div has don’t extremely well. Don’t know if that will be enough…
