Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Someone here who's worked at BNSF?

I'm thinking of going to BNSF. Is there anyone here with experience who has worked there as well and can compare the two companies? Comparisons of management, culture and compensation ratings between UP and BNSF that can be found on Glassdoor and Indeed I do not consider very relevant. Probably not much better there either, or should I try anyway?

I came from the CP, who has close friends that work for the BNSF, and some that already left. The situation over there is only marginally better from I've been told. It might be different at some locations though. I do know that the BNSF didn't make the worst employer list, so I can safely assume that they're better than the UP.

If your asking about Conductor jobs? You'll be furloughed in no time. Craft job, might be safe might not. Life's a gamble. I came from CSX in 2013 never been furloughed here. I have the conductor sh-t up in 2008.
