Tension can be cut with a kn--e. The atmosphere has never been worse and when I say that I think I am very objective. I just wonder if there is any part of this company that is still healthy? I doubt it. The most telling thing about the company is that most people regret not having already received a layoff.

Start looking for something else, there are plenty of jobs outside, and leave in your own terms. Is not worth it staying if you feel like this, just for the chance to get increased severance. I left sometime ago, I'm not in my dream job but feeling much better and earning more.
Nothing worth fighting for there except yourself. Stop committing career su----e and move on already.
Do yourself a huge favor and start looking for something more rewarding, where your talents are valued and appreciated. Syna mgmt is only looking out for themselves, they will outsource your position or outright eliminate it without a second thought. And you are correct, those who have left whether, on their own accord or being forced out, are feeling a sense of relief and that says volumes about the toxic culture and work climate at Syna.
