Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Buyout news is not good

Why are Citrix employees saying this is great news? They were bought by an equity firm and are going private… how is this good? No real company would buy Citrix so you’re stuck with an equity firm. This is nothing to be proud of. It is only going down from here.

Per the SEC filing they're merging with a Tibco subsidiary - not Tibco***

"Do your own research and don't be sheeple. If you look up the companies Vista owns and how long they've owned them and how much more valuable they are you wouldn't be saying they're going to break up the company and ki-l it. They're investing way too much into the buyout if their goal is to break up and sell off. Nor would they be merging Citrix with Tibco. Think for yourselves, folks."

Might want to do some research too. Per the SEC filing, they're merging with a Tibco - NOT Tibco. Aka a company within the Tibco portfolio. That means all redundant Citrix positions - and there are many - will be eliminated... just like with every company when a Tibco subsidiary absorbs them. Guess it's hard to see all the blood when you're looking through rose colored glasses.

It is good for the company and the investors in the long term. It will be bad for employees in the short term as there will be lots of layoffs, benefit cuts, etc.

IMO it will be bad for customer in the short term too as they will feel the pain of the lack of resources and the mass exodus of employees.

Long term, once it goes back public it may be a win for all parties.

this is good news for some and not for others.

engineers and actual "doers" in our product lines are much safer than those dummies on the 4th floor in "security" and "IT" and "governance".. Marketing is not safe either in my opinion.

Equity firms cut the fat, and break things up , correct not good news going private.
