Thread regarding Northwestern Mutual layoffs

New CEO

There have been rumors that a CEO transition is in the works.
Probably C mitchel or Aditi.

Why do experienced female leaders continue to leave NM? Beyond the “big” names recently, there are many other Senior Director and VP level female employees who have left the company quietly. This has been an issue for about five years now but NM does nothing. On another note, Aditi and Christian are abominations. Ask anyone how Aditi treats them. Christian has destroyed literally everything he’s touched. NM would greatly benefit from the “boy genius” leaving this company for good. Please. Many will burn our policies on the front steps of the south building when this announcement occurs.

Aditi will be the new CEO. I am 99% certain of that at this stage.

It will absolutely be Aditi- they've been positioning her as such for a while now. It will be done in a very "oh wow, we didn't even realize she's a woman of color, who knew? We don't even see gender or color!" kinda way but there is zero doubt that that is the tipping point in the choice between her and Mitchell. I hate that that's the truth, but it is. I am in no way suggesting she brings nothing to the table, but I am suggesting that they need that more than any part of her CV at this point. The company has one AA MP and one woman and still has the nerve to position itself as a company that values diversity and inclusion. She's amazing for optics.

Aditi the clown? Please no! So fake and presumptuous.

Make no mistake, Aditi is the heir apparent to Schlifske. She is the defacto successor and is being groomed as such. Robertson will still be in the picture because he's delivering ROI as the hatchet man and is given very high marks by the people who count. Mitchell is deeply regarded, but too green right now. Has a bright future in the eyes of the people who count. It is what it is. Aditi will make a good leader in my estimation.

Don't forget C Mitchell was responsible for the Learnvest catastrophe. Aditi is more trash from there to. New leadership from the outside is severely needed.

+1 to the commentary on HR. I've never seen such cronyism before... majority of the HR leadership team is part of the Don club, handpicked for their ability to hold up his banana republic.

As long as the new CEO fires the silver fox Don Robertson the entire employee population will rejoice! This guy has been nothing but a disaster and a tyrant behind the scenes!

The HR department and how it is ran by Don's friends and family that he brought in are just yes men and women. Ask any of the non leadership in the department.

Anyone who has been paying attention can see that they continue to give Aditi more of the meaty stuff (notably, managed investments). Meanwhile CM has the fluffy experience sh-t. The board wants NM to be differentiated...a diverse woman at the helm sends a he-l of a message.

It's not going to be Aditi. She's a woman and NM is not going to do that no matter how much they pretend to promote women. She also was a leftover from LearnVest right? That speaks volumes in itself.
Christian Mitchell - hopefully not but very possibly yes.
But really, who cares anymore.
