Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Are big cuts coming after the merger with Tibco?

I don’t like to worry ahead of time, but my personal opinion is that many positions will become redundant.

Knowledge transfer, gap analysis, redundancy discovery... then some shifts follow, finishing with a nice fat round of cuts.

It is a misinformation that Citrix merges with Tibco. Per SEC filing Citrix merges with Tibco subsidiary. Citrix will become wholly owned subsidiary of Tibco. All redundant positions in Citrix will be eliminated. Same as Tibco done with their previous acquisitions

Who cares at this point, really? This is as uncertain as it gets when it comes to job security. So, you should have a strategy in place by now I hope. If you are staying you should not be too concerned with potential layoffs in the future. If and when your number is called then you move on to the next chapter. If you are leaving then that is that.

For what is worth, public or private, layoffs are always a risk in any large company these days. I would also argue Tibco employees should be just as concerned about this merger.

Vista usual process is to fire around 10 to 15 % of staff once an acquisition is completed (so that would be around July), then they optimize costs in a process that takes a few years (this cover many things like world wide offices, employee benefits, and etc)
