Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Get ready to take IQ tests to keep your jobs.

As per that article employees in Vista owned companies have to take an IQ test to keep their jobs. IQ tests have been proven as bunk, but looks like Citrix employees are going to have some fun in the coming days.

Vista also requires pedigree papers for each employee.

The scale, properly speaking, does not permit the measure of the intelligence, because intellectual qualities are not superposable, and therefore cannot be measured as linear surfaces are measured.

Science deniers will deny that intelligence is distributed across human populations in a near perfect statistical distribution, and that some demographics have higher mean intelligence than other demographics.

The level of fake study books quoted here is mind boggling. IQ as a measure has been debunked time and again, and its connection is not via positiva but via negativa. It was something designed to figure out learning challenges with kids.

Going by this measure Albert Einstein or some of the ones who are geniuses should have been the billionaires in the world.

Some of the richest I know dont even have average IQs. Go figure..

Just in case if people have not been following the news, even universities are going to do away with standardized test scores like SAT and ACT etc. because they have found these are not indicative of anything and can be gamed due to various factors.

I certainly would be wary of an employer using standardized tests to grade people.

Go read that piece of article that is out there , it lists it all out nicely why IQ tests are bunk and are not indicative of success in life much less work.

Only someone with a low IQ would say that IQ tests are bunk.

My take on that has always been, "bring it on," but I always test in the low 140's.
There are certain groups who will certainly cry foul.

Everyone on here complains how bad Citrix managers are, so if we do get a "pure meritocracy" (to quote the linked article) won't that be better?

So essentially employees now have to prepare for an IQ test vs not rely on their on the job performance to advance themselves.

That definitely is a great start !

I have doe this at another company I worked for that was Vista acquired. The tests probably won’t result in a job loss, since every new hire is required to take and pass it, the test definitely affects mobility for those already employed.
