Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Everything works out in the end!

I know a lot of people who wouldn’t have left TD if they hadn’t gotten laid off. My colleague and a friend thought it was the end of the world after he got cut. However, if you asked him about it now, he would say it's the best thing that's ever happened to him. He got a much better job, he is paid more now and he generally has more time for himself and his family. I am writing this to show support to those who have been recently cut. I really don't know anyone who hasn't found a job yet or whose career has seriously suffered after getting cut from here.

Yep! I was laid off in 2020, and to be honest, I'd probably still be there suffering abuse from my colleagues, VP and C-level because I was burned out and so tired I didn't think I could go anywhere else. It took a while to shrug off the anger but in time I did find a much better situation and am surprised with DAILY examples by my new employer that the way TD allows others to treat eachother IS NOT NORMAL, AND SHOULD NOT BE NORMAL just 'because it happens at some other tech companies too'.

I got cut 3.5 years ago and it was tough. I liked the perks I was getting at teradata. I shifted from role to role but never felt that sense of belonging like I did at teradata. But I now found a role working for Jesus and know I am doing the work for jesus now and I will be redeemed in heaven in the next life.
