Thread regarding Caliber Home Loans layoffs

Went downhill fast.

Since April of 2021 when they announced the coming acquisition by New Rez everything went south. We were cross-examined over five different roles & they still ran out of work & pipelines were empty. They abruptly ended things by laying us off one week after the then VP left to pursue another role under the CEO after assuring us that our dept was overstaffed but nonetheless"here to stay", that following day the CHL CEO stepped down unexpectedly. We were denied our accrued PTO after being encouraged to carry it over from 2021. It was a disaster! Hundreds of workers displaced in an already crippled economy & only given an email address to contact HR for concerns or questions.

I was laid off via Microsoft Teams in June. My lay off occurred after other staff members reported my immediate boss of abusing me without my knowledge. As I was being let go HR actually said “ this has nothing to do with so and so” please! If it had nothing to do with this person why bring him up. Horrible company and horrible management.

I left a top Mortgage company that I was employed with for 8 years, to be a part of Caliber Home LoanS. A week before starting, the recruiter had ne to redo everything under NewRez. My position was remote and the day I was supposed to start, my WFH equipment had not arrived. It took two days after my start date to arrive and after I finally got everything set up, I had no system access. It literally took two weeks before I was able to work at all. I was barely trained and took another two weeks for me to get tasks assigned to work on. Still did not have acesss to all the systems I needed. I had to ask questions, take initiative and reach out myself for training. A little over a month I was laid off. It was the most unprofessional and unstructured. Work experience of my career. I'm talk from the onboarding process down to the way I was blindsided and laid off.

I was a top performing underwriter. My whole department was laid off in April. After being encouraged to carry PTO over it was lost. Also did not get the employer match.
