Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

Either they are indecisive or they are not marketable

I have two colleagues who have been openly talking about leaving for months now. What’s the problem with people who keep saying they’re leaving and that they’ve had enough of everything but are still here?
I cannot believe that someone who has made a firm decision to leave has not been able to find anything better for more than half a year, and the job has never been easier to find.

I don’t blame them for wanting to look for better opportunities, but due to Covid and an uncertain employment market it isn’t as easy to find a job as some may think.
Employers aren’t looking for qualified people, they are looking for people who will work for cheap pay even now.
I was part of the huge lay off in Oct 2020 and I have yet to find anything that will pay me as much as I was making at GA with all the benefits I had. Due to my age it has been difficult. GA screwed a lot of people and got rid of the best they had and left the dead beats who didn’t want to work!! All the young ones- such cr-p!
Sooooo give those that are still looking and haven’t found the best opportunity a break! It is not as easy as it seems!

You are speaking of classic life time GA employees! These people aren’t going any where they are institutionalized! They couldn’t leave even if they wanted to! I have seen a lady in IT complain about GA - leave the company 4xs - get fired every where she goes and come right back to GA…. The sad part is GA always welcomes a failure every where else as a high productive employee here… just a little insight on the talent GA is able to retain and cherish

Yeah a lot of people complaining at work (including the ones on this chat) are not actually doing anything to change their position. It’s all smoke and mirrors.
