Trading a life for the money

That is how I would characterize the work at UP. My pay is decent and I am satisfied, but I have no more life. Everyone who intends to come here should know that they will probably do the worst shifts.

Well, that's railroad for you, but it seems to me more and more that in other companies in the industry it's a little different?

I have worked for two railroads and it’s the same; you trade your time and life for money. You are paid well, but you have no life outside your job. It’s a trade off that some are willing to make and some aren’t.

@gxz That's coming from a person who describes others as a hateful derogatory name. So yeah I'd say you need him more than the rest of us

what you've just said is one of the most insanely id--tic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now d-mber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Railroad industry? Railroads don't make anything. The railroads are the el chapo over land transportation. "We can't get the car ready in that time frame. "fu-k you". "Why are we paying these fees? Because fu-k you, shareholders gotta eat too". Employee morale is down, what should we do? FORCE all employees to take a survey, that doesn't matter anyway, that's the paperwork for saying, "our employees have the courage to care"
