Whomever mentioned this a week or so ago on here was correct. The signs that were posted stated there was an "issue" so the store had to close temporarily. The "issue" is that SIMON is making them move out. Like soon. Like in two days soon. I'm taking the light rail over to Newport Center Mall tomorrow to take pics.

Of course it's a post. Everything here is "a post". That's not exactly going out on a limb, sailor.
And I didn't bite anything. I just mocked and ridiculed the troll sitting in his or her basement.
@elk+1ey4if3G I Know! I have my strong suspicions that maybe he's the OP here. Obviously I can't prove it, but I have a feeling he set up this whole scenario just to make a video "going over" this fake closing, that he can get clicks on. It's all about getting clicks on his YT channel.
@zim+1ey4if3G You got me in stiches dude! I can picture the late, great Tony Soprano Saying, in his distinct NYC accent: "Hey Vito, fuggedaboutit!!! Youse better have Sears outta dis mall in THOO DAIZE, ha capiche?"
@hwz+1ey4if3G "It was a post". You don't Say? Nah, it was just fake trolling by someone who isn't even good at trolling. I can respect a slick, well-done trolling attempt, but OP failed at even that.
@xsj+1ey4if3G And the more I'll keep mocking/shaming the cellar dwellers (hey that rhymes!)
@snx+1ey4if3G I Know you're being nice, but I wouldn't even bite on this one. It is so obviously fake, as stated below. A mall cannot kick a store out "in like 2 Days". It was an obvious nonsensical post. OP apparently has an obsession with making fake posts about Jersey City Sears closing. I have been reading fake closing posts about this store since around 2019. All fake. He never heard of the boy who cried wolf. I don't believe his gibberish anymore.
@exz+1ey4if3G I'll take things that never happened for $100, Alex.
And no one cares about this fake story that was probably written by the elevator guy, having another one of his fantasies. Either that, or it was written by a 13 Year old who saw too many Sopranos reruns.
Simon mall "kicking" Sears out? "LIKE SOON. LIKE IN TWO DAYS SOON". Right. And I'm going to play in the NBA next Week.
Where do people come up with this BS. At least try to make your trolling believable. This isn't landlord Lenny kicking out his Drunk, Deadbeat, tenant in unit #16 B of your local apartment complex. These are million Dollar stores, in Million Dollar malls, with Million Dollar lease deals. They can't just "kick" out a store, "LIKE SOON.....LIKE IN TWO DAYS". "like, really, dude, like, like, like, totally awesome dude". The lexicon of the OP even looks like it was written by a Teenager. Write the word "like"" a few more TIMES.
Come on people, at least make an effort, if you're going to troll. Put a little "game" into it. This is the lamest attempt I have seen. Simon mall is kicking Sears out. Ya, that might happen. Keep Watching Sopranos, little kid.
- * P.S.: Just to be clear, I am not doubting that this (and all Sears) will eventually close. But not like this, and not in this method. They will close when Ed Lampert wants them to close. Big box stores don't get kicked out by the whim of landlords. SMDH, ROFL.
Someone's sister, discussing bad odors, does NOT constitute proof of a store closing. Sorry. Same deal, as someone's cousin's mechanic's doctor's dog-sitter's wife's, best friend reporting a closing. Sorry, doesn't count.
My sister who lives in the area. Told me about the Mall as being a nice place to shop. However she did say that the Sears store was a filthy mess.
There was a bad odor as well like the bathroom door had been left open.
Many lights were out so it had a dim uninviting look to it. She went about 30 feet into the store turned around and walked out.
Probably one of the 3 people working at corporate posted the advertisement on FB not knowing that the store had been shut down.
Does make sense. What mall would keep allowing a run-down, barely stocked, dust-ridden store to serve as an anchor? Sears/Kmart have become a blight on every shopping center, or neighborhood. They're an embarrassment, not a draw.
Okay, I’ll bite on this one…
- Proof please.
- If this is true is it due to a rent or lease dispute or is it a lease buyout situation.
- Is there an emerging trend of property owners actively dropping Sears/Kmarts without definite replacement tenants due to these stores not being an adequate anchor for the shopping centers?
I fu----g KNEW it!!! That was me. I KNEW something wasn't right about them closing.....
