Managers are being told to look for cost-cutting efficiencies - this also means secretly labeling their staff as essential or non-essential. This company is mercilessly massacring their (older) employees which is having an effect on the community and going completely unreported in the press.

All companies have such lists.
They are doing what the law allows. That's why there's no reporting of wrongdoing.
In my family alone, I can think of at least 4 NEW digital camera purchases in the last 6-7 years. Probably another 3-4 used ones, as some people upgrade and sell their old for deals.
Not sure what you're selling... but I'm not buying.
