2022 will bring return to office.
VPs will feel so much better seeing underlings every day that our performance will soar.
At least that's what I got from end of year townhalls.

For the sake of hope in the New Year, only JG99s will get cut. The rest depends on outside forces and (mis)management knee jerk responses to it.

Up to 9000 cuts were announced in 2020 as a goal. Before Mis-shape so not based on organisational needs. Just a cheap feel for the share holders. Shell look left, "what are XOM doing?" look right, "what are CVX doing? We'll match their noise to distract the market away from our commitment to low margins!"

What are included in this 9000? Retirements, divestments, job losses from moving from the Hague? What about business acquisitions increasing head

When will it start, 5 January or later? Do the prey know who they are? Do their managers know they will be losing heads? Will positions open for application?

And the Big Quit is not done. You will be shorthanded.

So what's ahead for 2022? A whole lot of suck.

Just another year of layoffs, and having to stick it out to get your severance.
