There were many threads over the past couple of months about layoffs in December ... did any layoffs (of any size/consequence) actually happen? Even if under-the-radar?

Posting here, to address the specific misinformation around Engineering. Will also post in the other thread around hiring.
To the commenter who mentioned there are no new hires in Engineering, in the last couple months alone they have hired almost 100 people. The majority of those are in skilled talent, but there is also a portion of future investment in intern and college graduates.
Solid growth in immediate and future technical skill
Finance and CS engineers
That's very sad. Do you know in which department(s)?
They have been communicated. Last day for affected - end of Q1.
Sounds like there will be pre sales layoffs in January along with some senior management changes
And the ten people in HR and other related functions (mandatory when HR can’t actually do anything that’s related to HR) that would have been necessary to hire them both.
I guess sharing M.e.’s comp around will get you one decent engineer these days but who’s paying for the second resource - Mr Fred ‘Free’ Cash-Flow ?
Good luck to both of them…..
Where are they hiring? In the Diversity Compliance Office? Certainly not seeing fresh and skilled new blood in Engineering.
Wow, buyer beware then.
None that I heard of. I heard they have been hiring like crazy recently. I'm in recruitment and reports are that increasing headcount and very competitive offers are going out to candidates
