We have to fix their mess

Fun fact: this company’s high-level execs that are responsible for shipments ALWAYS drop the ball. Then they lower-level workers clean up and chase after their mess.

This is 100% correct. But what gets me even more is the fact that they're not the ones who take the blame when things are not running as they should due to their mistakes. No, they mess up and manage to blame us all at once. We work our butts off to fix what they messed up and all we get is the blame for the mess we had nothing to do with.

Is the furniture guy still blessing Nordstrom with his (very expensive) wisdom? Has anyone figured out the connection between a manufacturing line in a furniture factory and a fashion retailer yet? Anyone??

Kaizen was the great ploy to justify the presence and conceal the incompetence of high-level directors and managers by having lower-level staff spin their wheels. Imagine convincing the Nordstroms that having a furniture guy “teach” interns and entry-level employees that the way to solve complex operational and supply chain issues was to create pretty flowcharts of random made-up rules and timelines that factories won’t follow anyway. I’m sure drinking the Kool-Aid is keeping them alive on Extinction Island.

1/4 to 1/2 the jobs in corporations are about cleaning up the sh!t ba--s created by others. The higher you go in a corporate job has a great deal to due with your ability to defer blame. It’s the same everywhere to some degree. Perhaps there is a lesson to learn here.

100% true get out there are other jobs better

I wasted 20 years of my life there, get out while you can. 20 years!!! Wasted!
