I visit this forum sometimes to see if there are any new juicy rumors. There are no rumors about layoffs, but there are too many complaints.
Do you really think that there is an ideal company in which everything will be just as you imagined?

For the people looking for names to drop…. You probably wouldn’t recognize the names and that is the whole point. There was a time where getting Qualcomm stock options was priceless… that isn’t the case anymore…. When you go to a company that has the potential to give you a greater return in stock options than your salary …. Then you are at an innovative place… the problem is one would have to bet on their talent… and many people aren’t willing to do that… so they go to Qualcomm grow oranges 🍊 and complain how they are the world’s best engineer and don’t get paid for it
You seem to only have a brief history with Qualcomm. Qualcomm use to brag about its innovation and there are still relics of that - the patent wall. Some people do complain but that is bc they think they are working for an innovative tech company but that is not the case…. It’s only when people are reminded that they work for a commodity company people seem to get confused - like you seem to be confused…. If you want to grow oranges Qualcomm is a decent place… if you claim to be an innovative engineer it’s silly to stay at Qualcomm and pretend you are actually an engineer…. Farmer yes! Engineer no! And that’s just the way Silicon Valley views Qualcomm.

They do exist, at least for some moments in time, sometimes for years or even decades at a time. I've worked at a couple of them over the years, and it seems to me I've landed at another one now. Hint: You won't find any of their names here on this site.
