Walked in this morning, barely said "hello" and people are already talking about layoffs and store closures. So glad I'm leaving this place at the end of January. I've had enough.

Will Macy’s be able to hire just part time workers? How is this being competitive with other retailers like Target and Costco where people want to start there in a part time position because they have better career and advancement opportunities.
Currently, the only full time positions are in the Jewelry and furniture departments…..are they eliminating those full time positions too?
They will eliminate full time jobs even at the union stores? I think that depends on the contract.
Talk is that full time positions will be eliminated. Everyone will be part time which will allow totally flexible scheduling. This similar to what Target does.
I'm guessing probably the full time employees will get offer a severance package or either take a part time position. This company is just full of surprises. We just after to wait and see what happens.
What are they gonna get rid of full time employees now? And make everyone part time since they are raising the pay to $15? We know there would be cuts coming with that pay raise to $15 smh.
Eventually it always happens after inventory, before the new fiscal year on February. But this time there's going to be alot of changes before May 2022, when everyone starts with $15/hour including new and current employees. Full-time employees just be ready, don't be surprise or shock. 🤔
Such a horrific way to live. Not knowing each year if your going to have a job.
Never have seen a company run like Macy’s where every year they have layoffs and continue to change the business model .
Did you walk in to start at 7 am.? Out store opened at 7 am and will close at 10 pm. The mall closes at 6 pm. In my dept., we have one opener today scheduled to work 6:30 am - 3:30 pm and one closer to work 3:15 pm - 10:15 pm. Again, not enough coverage for the busiest time of the day which is 11-5 on Sundays.
