My New Year's resolution is to find a workplace where I won't have to get yelled at by rude customers all day long. It wasn't like this before but things have changed so much, especially the customers, and now I have to take verbal - bordering on physical sometimes - abuse the whole day. I've had enough.

Yes, retail is not great but at least you can leave and work for a company that doesn’t have a former George Soros executive on the board of directors like Kohl’s has.
If you land a position where you work with people you will encounter what you are attempting to get away from. Perhaps a bit less but you will still see it. Retail is probably the worst.
