Management at Broadcom is superficial, arrogant, and delusional. Every single one of them displays open favoritism and if you're not in their good graces, you can kiss your career advancement goodbye. Basically, if you're not an expert a-s kisser, you're screwed. I'd rather leave than stoop that low.

The environment must be really bad in your team. I guess you should find a better place to work and leave your seat free to someone that likes to be around and collect the RSUs.

from a software side of biz....everyone has a story of the nepotism. and i've never seen anything like it anywhere else. a caste system like someone mentioned way back...some of the recent moves and decisions are mind boggling..... but can't be surprised...the RSU's created bad behavior at the mgt level... it was obvious back in early 2019 how it would unfold...
if you're 60+ then you've got no choice. anyone else...why are you here? yeah the RSU are decent, but not great enough to risk skills atrophy...and certainly not life changing
It's so blatant isn't it? It's part of this culture. If you have real skills then can find a real job somewhere else. Here is a joke and only waiting on RSUs until Octane decides to get rid of your department.
They expect from you what they have to do themselves, if they don't they're out. They'll apply the same logic to you.
