Thread regarding Raymond James Financial Inc. layoffs

I'm about done with this place

I can deal with being underpaid and overworked. It's not ideal, but I've been here long enough that it would take a lot more to make me look for something new. Well, my new manager happens to be that "a lot more." I refuse to be yelled at and bullied daily by somebody who got to his position by being a brown-noser. I'm too old for that cr-p.

I agree with the most recent reply to this post. I was on one of those 2 minute zoom calls and my life changed forever after it. I agree that senior management had to know what was going on. It was inhumane what was done to us. My life has regained some composure and I have moved on to a better situation. I will never forget what was done to me and want to thank Paul personally for letting me work all those nights and weekends during the past year.

Palatable?! They sent a mtg request, Ams in 2 mins they totally changed our lives and yes gave us a severance that fyi they had been planning for months. They gave us no notice and we all worked nights and weekends trying to prove ourselves. Gave up time with our families and every bit of time off was met with deadlines to achieve before going on vacation. The world of RJ was a constant feeling of either not accomplishing enough or giving up time to ensure you had a job to go to the next day. I even recorded a conversation between myself and my immediate supervisor who told me I wasn’t a good fit. When I played it for my actual supervisor they were blown away. This place is toxic and if you have found a better job for you and your family take it immediately.

Lets face it all! Working in RJ technology is horrible! Go back years on this site, nothing but bad about Raymond James IT department. Stop complaining all! Go find new jobs. No local firm here has this much constant negative posts, what does that tell you??? This place is abusive and terrible to all of us! Paul doesn't care! HR doesn't care! Bella and Vin don't care! They just want to get their huge bonuses by standing on our backs! Happy New Year!

I was one of the 550. Although I hated what happened and still disagree with what happened and how it was done I will give RJ some credit with severance. For those that don't know we were told on 9/15. They paid us until 10/28 which is 6 weeks. On top of that I received a severance package that was significant (I had 15 years at RJ), which included paid healthcare for a year. Again I despise Paul Reilly and what he did to us but it was a bit more palatable.

If "You find a new position, you start immediately," then the potential new employer will know that you are the type of person who gives zero notice. What does that say about your character? Will they still hire you?

FYI they didn’t give us a two week notice when they let us go. It’s not something you have to do by law. You find a new position, you start immediately. Don’t let them twist your last two weeks into sh-t.

Good for you! Line up the new job, give the two week notice and bail.
