Haven’t dealt much with San Antonio audit. But other finance groups (corporate, analytics, accounting) are a mess at the top leadership
I had heard the internal audit management (San Antonio) was held in high regard by the businesses and CFO. Am I mistaken?
VP and manager level are where the problems are. Company needs to completely replace and restaff at this level to drive real change. Full of yes men who could care less about the teams they are leading
It all starts at the top…
What can be done to make the finance, audit, and accounting organizations awesome to work in? What’s the laundry list of changes that need to be made?
Setting aside issues with culture/environment there are not a ton of places offering such a 401k match in addition to a generous cash accumulation pension. Look around other industries...maybe high tech/IT/software offsets pension with equity/restricted stock units.
The finance, audit, and accounting organizations are the worse places you can be at MPC. Is full of people who couldn’t get jobs anywhere else. The leadership, especially the VP and above are horrible. The reason you see the turnover is the good people quickly see how bad it is and leave.
It's an accounting job. If you are a CPA and can work anywhere why would you work for Marathon?
