Someone asked who's joining the Apache now. Unfortunately, among those who couldn’t find anything else, there are even some talented people who somehow ended up here. I have a new young colleague who I still can’t believe has applied for a job here. I would never advise anyone to come here now, but perhaps Apache is still a decent company to gain some first experiences and stay up to a year?

Apache has no long term business model. That is enough said!
Learn what you can and get out before they force you to leave. Its a great place to learn "the stuff". Take it with you somewhere else.
As someone who left last month I think this greatly depends on your department. For engineers it’s hit or miss. You’re basically either overworked working assets or you’re in “planning” making PPT slides. Geos? Almost completely in shambles, too few staff, and absurdly undervalued. Land isn’t bad, but they need more people.
For everyone else in the company, whose job is to support the aforementioned folks find and produce oil and gas, working at Apache is probably pretty great. Awesome compensation and minimal BS.
Everyone who just graduated needs to get their foot in the door somehow somewhere. My college placement director said it best…the number one objective for each college grad….GET THE FIRST JOB!!
That’s a little harsh. At least it’s entrance to the industry.
