Someone mentioned bankruptcy here, so I wonder what you think about how close we are to the rock bottom?
I do not believe that bankruptcy will happen, but I would prefer to work in a company where it is clear that it will not go bankrupt any time soon.....

Watch for a weird mass exiting/evacuation from the higher ups. The ones who know it's coming will be gone before it happens.
Neither GE in its current form, nor the baby GE's forming from the breakup, will go bankrupt within your lifetime. There are debt and other balance sheet challenges, but bankruptcy isn't in the cards in any realistic scenario.

The way bankruptcy works for a huge corporation like GE is one day you have hundreds of millions of dollars and the next day it's all gone. GE makes and spends hundreds of millions of dollars a day while spending about as much. All it takes is a simple hiccup overnight where they are behind by a few dollars for just a few minutes and the whole house of cards comes crashing down. Panic ensues shortly after.
