A few weeks ago and for about one week during morning huddles, store management asked us if we would like to do inventory. The huddles that I was at no one said yes.

Sales Managers at my store are doing their department layout maps and next week they will be placing the sticker tickets.
Inventory in our store is going to be a disaster. There is home merchandise stashed all ove the building and no one by as any idea of what is where.
Suck it up buttercup? You must really like the Macy’s Kool-Aid. No other retailer treats their employees as poorly as Macy’s.
It isn’t general retail it is Macy’s retail.
Macy’s is the most unethical retailer in the country.
Walmart treats their people better and pays them much better than Macy’s. Unless you are a new hire at Macy’s then they pay you more.
Anybody that is loyal to this has been company deserves what they dish out.
Wake up and find a real job.
Suck it up buttercup. This is retail.
Inventory is necessary but is a pain and long process. Can’t wait to see some of the results in January after the theft that’s been going on in a lot of stores. I think the normal 2% allowance will not be enough this time. On a more positive note, wishing all Happy Holidays whatever you celebrate enjoy the season. Let’s hope for a better 2022.
You know you are having a bad inventory when it takes longer than labor and delivery of your first child. On more than one inventory I was at the store more than 18 hours.
After inventory, they will then proceed to lay you off and close stores - your "thanks" for all your hard work.
A manager told me that flex and seasonal employees will work the daytime selling hours during the inventory time period and regular employees will do the overnight inventory. She said we need our experienced and knowledgeable regular employees to do the inventory.
Inventory is the worst. We go from coking in very early to being asked to work in the middle of the night. Is there any way to get out of not doing it?
Have the corporates clowns comes in and do it .. or the useless ops or sale managers
Inventory is just something that you do. No big deal. Just do it! Inventory is proof that Macy's AP policies are working and that proper planning and good logistics management principles have been applied throughout the year. No problem for Macy's well trained and motivated employees! You can do it!
