They keep putting more and more work on the pharmacist. You have weekly conference calls that are an hour long (before the pharmacy opens). If you are not working that day, you are still required to be on the call. You do not get paid for that time either.

The pharmacists are required to upset "expanded vaccinations." Non flu or covid vaccinations, ie shingrix, prevnar, gardisil etc. To generate more revenue, about $200 per shot. Mandatory 21 vaccinations per week, and being raised to 30 per week in the fall.
Pharmacists are forced to counsel almost every patient, the reason being is the company want the pharmacist to upsell every patient immunizations and point of care testing (cholesterol and blood glucose testing).

You also have to do MTM patient call that generate the company money.

So bottom line, as a pharmacist, the company uses your NPI to generate revenue for clinical services which you have to up sell to the patient and you get more work load than is safe to handle.

True. There is a retail pharmacist shortage nationwide right now. Pharmacists that left retail don’t want to come back, and pharmacists that had their hours cut don’t want to work more. A lot of new grads are trying to get residencies to work somewhere that isn’t retail.

Because they treat their pharmacists like cr-p. When Covid hit, jobs became available elsewhere and those trapped in a job where they were treated like human garbage by their employer were finally able to move on to greener pastures. And when you're standing in the field that's covered 3 feet deep in sh-t, all other pastures are greener.
