Ok enough is enough. We get it. We are to do whatever we can to ensure the customers leave our stores happy. There are TOO MANY variables that dictate what a customer rates our store. Again ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I’m not saying our reps need to make $3k or more in Commish a month but when you look at the customer experience, it can only be executed by the employee experience. And when YOU put a commission structure in place specifically the current one, you will continue to decrease store moral. How do you actually expect reps to be motivated and inspired to sell all the wonderful revenue generating SWAG if they’re not being compensated. HOW DARE YOU!!! You have TOP TEAMS nation wide fullfilling what YOU THE COMPANY NEEDS and WORKING SO HARD to ensure every single customer leaves happy and yet because a customer leaves an 8 score the store loses money but YOU continue to generate. How dare you. This is disgusting. No wonder employees are leaving the retail channel or the company in general. FIGURE IT OUT AND QUICK!!!!

back in 2012 i was making $8,000 commission checks wow seems grim now
To the OP...we DO deserve and need those 3k commission checks. Speak for yourself on that one. I miss the old compensation on individual. I was making bank, hard work deserves compensation not a pay cut and a slap in the face from upper management. Upper management should be kissing our as--s because our numbers reflect their territory and district numbers.
Good thread!
As posted in the other forum thread here:
As a decade-long in-store VZW indirect authorized retailer front-line sales technician, the pay here is not too low.
The problem is that unless you are in a 160+ contracts per month store (per individual sales tech), then too much downtime in between customers reduces your final pay to about $16/hour which includes the modern-day commissions tables.
(Lower per sale)
Are the Corp doors truly chocked-full of waiting customers from January to December from open to close as is reported?
If so, then each dpp contract should pay you around $18 in salary + commissions as it averages nationally in our business.
If you average 1.5 dpp's hourly, you deserve $55k annually.
$18x1.5x170hours paid monthly =$4,500/mo
(Hourly plus Commission)
@1zhg+1enFXgOH First off we all know telesales is not all gravy. Robotic call answering one after another chasing super huge quotas. The fact of the matter is that a lot of reps applied for telesales and were turned down. Honestly the money is probably slightly better in telesales but remember the average base is less then retail.
I transfer last year to inside sales and I love it, no rude customers no face masks and no micro managing just pure sales and great comission. My question to all the reps that are still in the store why haven’t you left ? Or why didn’t you apply to telesales when you had the chance ? Not trying to bash on retail sales employees.
Lol...you work in retail. You are the same as Walmart. Maybe target, but even their uniforms look better and some make way more per hour. Hahha.
Safe at home telesales gets big commissions but if you are face to face risking health and dealing with rude customers then you get the shaft.
Grammar is hard
We lose money but Verizon still gets their money whether they get bad surveys or not. Its the employees who lose money not the Admin Level peeps up there. These overpaid hogs & sloths aka Area Managers, DOS, VPs still get their fat checks plus bonuses. #TruDat FACTS!!
I’m saying that, I miss my 5k commish checks… I can not believe I am still here. At this point it’s my fault..
I love that this post was most likely written by a manger! You can tell by the wording like “our reps” and “SWAG”. Kudos! Good post!
Only Jesus gets a 10
"@OP+1enFXgOH attempted to articulate the frustration front facing employees have concerning direct customer feedback being tied to compensation." 8/10 because no post is perfect....
